About Craig

I’ve worn many hats in my life: network sales specialist, project manager, army officer, historian, author, and, most importantly, husband and father.

Education

During my days at the University of Wisconsin I developed a taste for strolling the stacks of libraries and archives. I got a thrill when I stumbled upon the odd and fascinating details of firsthand accounts and primary source information. This habit led me into a life as an avid researcher—something that has proven useful in my current career as an author and historian.

Military Career

Craig as a Battalion Commander

My focus on military history is a natural outgrowth from my 28 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army and National Guard. I served from platoon leader up to battalion commander. Those duties give me insight to doctrine and tactics that help me appraise the combat actions of past conflicts.

Family

Blessed with a happy home life, I live in Raleigh, NC with my wife Mary Ann. I also enjoy my time visiting with my three adult children and grandchildren.
